Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Better Sleep ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information in connection with the Better Sleep Chrome Extension.
1. Data Collection
We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data.
Better Sleep is designed as a privacy-first, offline-capable extension. We do not have servers, and we do not use third-party analytics services (like Google Analytics) to track your behavior.
2. Data Usage
The extension processes the following data inputs strictly for the purpose of providing its core functionality:
- Sleep Schedule: Target bedtimes and wake times you input.
- Sleep Logs: Timestamps of when you go to sleep and wake up, along with your self-reported mood rating upon waking.
- Settings: Preferences such as reminder toggle, grace period, and language selection.
This data is used solely to:
- Calculate your sleep duration and sleep cycles.
- Display your sleep history and insights within the extension popup.
- Trigger local browser notifications (bedtime reminders).
3. Data Storage
All data generated or input by you is stored locally on your device using the Chrome Storage API (`chrome.storage.local`).
This data never leaves your browser. It is not synced to our servers (as we have none) nor to any cloud storage service controlled by us.
4. Data Sharing
Since all data is stored locally, we have no access to your data and therefore cannot share it with advertisers, third-party companies, or anyone else.
5. Your Rights
You have full control over your data. You can delete all stored data at any time by:
- Opening the Better Sleep extension.
- Going to the Settings tab.
- Creating the "Delete All Data" button in the Danger Zone section.
Uninstalling the extension will also permanently remove all local data associated with it.
